Vision Statement

Provide leading BIM consulting services for the building industry that allow our clients to streamline their processes, integrate with the leading technology solutions, and utilize the BIM model in all aspects of their business.

Mission

  • Focus on accurate Building Information Modeling
  • Provide builders with the most information from BIM
  • Integrate BIM information with leading technology solutions
  • Leverage the BIM in other aspects of their business model
  • Commitment to providing high level customer service, response time and client experience

With our Vision Statement as the foremost influence over the CG Visions’ business model, we have emerged as the industry leader in Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, development and implementation. By utilizing and creating innovative solutions and staying at the pinnacle of technology, we have formed a client list consisting of some of the top builders in the nation and abroad.

While establishing these larger clients, CG Visions has not overlooked the smaller production builders, custom builders and industry trades who most often do not have a budget to staff and maintain a design department specializing in BIM. Our services allow for these companies to take advantage of the latest technologies without a large initial investment. With this, CG Visions has created a strong reputation as an all-inclusive, “one-stop-shop” provider of builder services.

Our backgrounds are rooted in both the “ones and zeros” of this digital era as well as the “sticks and bricks” of the traditional building industry. Current clients are finding a 15% - 20% cost savings in services as well as a 50% reduction in overall cycle time compared to previous practices. Building upon these numbers our clients are stating; “We want to continue to expand our current business model with CG Visions to stay on the latest technology curve.”

A brief history

The company began when a business that needed assistance in integrating light gauge steel panelization software with their existing manufacturing line contacted Mr. Bozell, then a professor working in the Purdue University Department of Computer Graphics. After the successful consultation and integration for this company, the word spread, and more and more companies started contacting Mr. Bozell for help. The projects included apartments, dormitories, and hotels utilizing light gauge steel framing methods. The projects were then virtually built in a Building Information Modeling (BIM) software that allowed the clients to get the design information as well as bill of materials and manufacturing cut lists. As time went on and the projects grew, the workload became too much for a young full time Purdue professor who was at the time working on a tenure track.

Mr. Bozell knew there was “safety in numbers” and understood if his venture was going to take off he couldn’t do it alone. He soon asked Cory Shively, Scott Schultz and Tim Beckman to join his growing business. Each man brought in an interesting mix of ideas and experience. They all came from various backgrounds which taught them extremely valuable lessons on how to properly grow a company and what not to do from the dot com era, and they had also all worked in jobs at key companies within the digital media and construction fields. Most important, they possessed aptitude, dedication, drive, and an understanding that long hours and dedication would be required for this start up to succeed.

At the start, the group battled long commutes and long hours where days seemed to merge together. They endured offices with no heat in the dead of winter by swapping the space heater after each song on the radio and learned to type while wearing gloves. They also dealt with the lack of parking for a fast growing company at their downtown offices, endured crazy landlords, leaky roofs, and old buildings’ wiring issues, all along feeling confident that the market was ripe for their new business and they were going to make it happen.

“Throughout the growth of the company we all have taken different positions on company issues and how best to serve the building construction industry, but are respectful enough of each others’ ideas to hear one another out and come to a group consensus. Often the meetings are split between the ‘dreamers’ and the ‘grounders,’ and ironically, these positions often switch from meeting to meeting. The bottom line is that we all have a passion for the building construction industry and introducing new technology to help increase productivity and profitability for the builder.”

-T. Beckman

After the disaster of 9/11, the market for Light Gauge Steel construction started to decline and so did the revenue stream this industry brought to CG Visions. Either a new avenue needed to be tapped or CG Visions would be forced to close it doors. The residential building market was beginning to show a need to move to new technologies, but CG Visions was back to square one in developing client relationships and figuring out pricing structure.

The group was committed to the success of the company, again putting in long hours to make the transition. Their efforts paid off. The word continues to spread, with more and more calls from residential builders who needed assistance in sifting through all the available technology. Builders also required help in converting their legacy data into the new BIM software.

CG Visions has continued to grow throughout the years, adding multiple divisions and services that include; BIM software consulting, back office integration, panelization, plan input, training, media services and their flex floor plan configurator, e-HomeInVision. The partners have developed very close relationships with key players in the industry and have the ability to both provide and hear ideas about where certain products need to be modified and improved prior to release. This “listening” to the demands and needs of the industry, then providing products that specifically address those demands, is what makes CG Visions a key innovator in the construction industry.
